Time to fix: about 15 minutes
Walkability (+20 °C): after about 3-4 hours, grouting after 24 hours
It is a powder with special cements, fillers, special additives and elastizers. When mixed with water, an elastic, pasty, adhesive solution is obtained, which hardens by hydration.
When working, the dry or wet base must be strong, load-bearing, free of twists, dust, dirt or dissociating substances. Gypsum bases, as well as hygroscopic or sanded screeds based on calcium sulfate, must be dry and primed with ARDEX P 51 Adhesion and Primer Dispersion diluted with water in a ratio of 1:3. For internal application, metal, glass, paint or varnish coatings and similar substrates should be treated with the synthetic resin based primer ARDEX P 82. For internal application, existing old tiled floors should be primed with the rapid multifunctional primer ARDEX P 4. In the areas with permanent moisture retention on the existing tile flooring, to create a bond bridge and waterproofing, to apply the alternative waterproofings of ARDEX.
Tile bonding with ARDEX X 30 should be done after the primer or the bonding bridge has dried. The treatment is carried out by pouring clear water into a clean container and adding ARDEX X 30 powder enough to obtain a homogenous solution without lumps. For bonding and leveling work, about 8.25 liters of water are needed to mix 25 kg of ARDEX X 30 powder. The density of the solution should be determined depending on the application, the type of base and the size of the tiles and slabs. Processing time at temperatures of +20 °C amounts to about 70 minutes. Then the hardening begins. The curing solution must not be diluted with water or mixed with fresh solution. Higher temperatures shorten and lower temperatures extend the time to process and reach loadability. In case of doubt, to make trial adhesions.
When laying under the floor, the solution is applied to the base and, according to the selected work method, it is “brushed” with a comb-shaped trowel. Before gluing, the reverse side of natural stone and concrete slabs should be puttyed thinly with ARDEX X 30. For thick layer gluing, apply with a trowel. Care should be taken to fully cover the reverse side of the plates. When laying very large tiles and slabs using the oating-buttering method, take into account the smoothness of the base and the material from which they are made.
Bonding areas should be large enough that the tiles and slabs can be easily placed in the pasty wet layer of the solution within the laying time. Processing time immediately after mixing the solution is about 30 minutes, and correction time is about 15 minutes. Tiles and slabs are walkable after about 3-4 hours and groutable after 24 hours. ARDEX X 30 can be used to fill holes and plaster uneven substrates with a layer thickness of up to 30 mm. After 2-3 hours, the leveling layers harden to the extent that you can start laying the tiles.
