Description
Ardex GK grout is produced on a cement base. It is a powder based on fast-hardening cements and special fillers with a maximum grain size of 0.7 mm.
The grout is designed for grouting tiles in workshops, car washes, pools, industrial surfaces, stairs, subways, balconies and terraces, for indoor and outdoor use – for floor and wall. It is suitable for joint widths over 4 mm.
The high-strength joint is cold-resistant and alkali-resistant according to ONORM 3303. It is resistant to steam pressure, high temperatures and common cleaning agents, it is also resistant to high mechanical stress and wear.
When mixed with water, a smooth, paste-like solution is obtained, which is easy to work with. The solution does not wash off even with wide joints and low temperatures, does not burn, has a high filling capacity and has very good adhesion to the sides of the tiles, without cracks. Early joint loading is possible.
When processing, clear water is poured into a clean container and powder is added until a lump-free solution is obtained. About 4 liters of water are needed for 25 joints of powder. The solution can be processed in the temperature range from 5°C to 20°C for about 30 minutes. Higher temperatures shorten the processing time. The solution is easily applied to the joints using a rubber trowel. Deeper joints can also be filled in one work operation without drying shrinkage. The short curing time allows for earlier cleaning without the joints being washed away.
ARDEX GK should be processed at temperatures above 5°C.
It should be borne in mind that on porous surfaces or matt glazes of tiles and panels, residues of the grouting mass may be stuck. To do a trial grouting of such flooring. When cleaning with acid, the joints must first be wetted with water. Moisture in the substrate and different absorbency on the sides of the tiles can cause color differences in the joint. In case of doubt, make test areas. Avoid overdose.
